It is usually cooler on the water. In the spring and fall a lightweight jacket and a pair of pants are appropriate. Even in the summer you may want a jacket or sweatshirt for sunset sails. Sunblock, a good hat, soft-soled shoes, sneakers or sandals are recommended.

Yes! Please feel free to bring a beverage of your choice. Due to liability, no hard liquor is permitted. We provide cold bottled waters on board. Sailing can be an active environment and so we ask you to provide your own plastic cups or cans.

Please feel free to bring food and snacks. We have cold storage and provide a cooler for food and beverages. Finger foods are always a hit!

Seasickness is not an issue in Edgartown Harbor. Of course, it helps immensely if you tell us that you’re prone to the motion of ocean so that we can plan our trip to stay in calm waters!

Parking! Down Town Edgartown can be very busy and parking can be difficult. We want your sail to be as relaxing as possible and hope you can plan accordingly.

Children are more then welcome we encourage them to come aboard. However, it is mandatory by US Coast Guard that all children under 12 wear life jackets. Please do not ask us to look the other way if your child does not want to wear a lifejacket. We have U.S. Coast Guard approved children and adult life jackets, however, you are also welcome to bring your own.

We are often asked if children and babies count toward the total number of guests. Due to US Coast Guard Federal Regulations, they do.

We can certainly provide the basics on a given trip if you are interested and guests are always encouraged to take the helm for a bit.

Yes! Victory has a “head” and is equipped with a marine toilet. However, it is a good idea to take care of business before your trip though!

We are bound by strict Federal law to a maximum capacity of 6 guests. This includes babies and children!

These trips are private, so no one but your chosen company will be on board other than the captain

This is generally not a problem. However, we can not extend the sail to make up lost time on the water.

Our sailboat does not provide shade and is an open cockpit. Please wear plenty of sunscreen for the early afternoon sails

Sometimes, however, they are not encouraged. You should call and confirm before bringing your dog. We want to be sure that they are comfortable on an active boat and aren’t going to be too active themselves or nervous and scratch the paint or varnish. Many dogs try to swim off the boat which can be highly problematic.

Wear whatever you are comfortable in with a grippy sole. Please refrain from wearing high heels and black sole shoes - they can leave marks – it’s appreciated if you remove them while aboard. Going barefoot is also an option as long as you understand there are a few places on board where you might stub your toe.
